How's the weather looking?

I'll be down on Friday for a trip up into the Walls over the weekend. Any of you likely to be up that way?

As it turned out the weather wasn't great but that didn't stop us. I will post a full report later but for now a brief summary. We started walking in light drizzle from the Walls CP at about 11:30 on Friday having flown in that morning. We lunched at Wild Dog Ck and proceeded to the Walls. Good views from the top of Solomon's Throne but by the time we got to the top of the Temple the mist had rolled in. Camped that night in the forest near Dixon's. Next morning we climbed Mt Jerusalem but still no views and so after breakfast we set off. Down Jaffa Vale to Lake Ball and then across to Lake Adelaide. From there the long walk along the lake then across to Lake Meston. Here we thought about stopping at the hut but it was just starting to clear for the first time and so decided to press on to Junction Lake. Arrived there just after 5:00PM. Decided to stay in the hut. It rained all night and was still raining when we set off at about 7:30AM. Went via Cloister Lagoon and Chapter Lake and then out on the Moses Ck. Track. Reached the road end just on Midday. Then set off on the road bash back to the car. Hitched a lift not far past the Lake Myrtle Tr. CP. Excellent weekend. Great country.

I think i'd rather be walking in Tas in rough weather than be at work in the city.....
from the land of the long white clouds...
