Overland Track Info

Postby HikerRyan » Sun 22 Mar, 2015 10:40 am

Hi i'm new to this site and i'm seeking some info on the Overland Track that i haven't found online. I'm planning to go in the first or second week of October '15 so there is enough time to prepare and pack as I have never done a long hike before (4 hrs is the longest), so it isn't too snowy (yes, I know the weather is all over the place there) and so I don't have to pay the $160pp fee.
Just wondering if anyone here has done the OT in early-mid spring. If so how was the weather then? And were there many people on the track at this time of year and were all the huts available? (As always, i will still bring a tent).
I am from Launceston, so what transport options are available to Cradle Mountain and from Lake St Clair?
I am really looking forward to it. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
