haha doogs beat me to it Dome Hill is NW of The Guardians.

Rumour has it you need to descend off the Western end of The Guardians(apparently there is a cairn at the top of the gully) and then sidle under the cliffs to reach Horizontal Hill etc, obviously quite scrubby and cliffy, PM details if you do it, I have considered this route previously :)

EDIT: Should add I've also heard of a party that descended off the NW edge and sidled a long way due to not being able to find a safe route to the west.

Hey Nuts,
Big ask as a solo walker why not just do a turn around and see what you missed on the way up :)

We had a look at this descent when out on the Guardians & found 'a' gully to descend (not sure if it was 'the' gully?).
As the previous day was a 12 hour day from Bert Nicholls Hut to Lake Elysia tho (via the Du Canes) & as this descent was covered in ice & very steep we decided to head back to Pine Valley instead (call it lethargy induced disinterest).
I'd take a short length of rope just in case it gets too steep & you need to pack haul, but there are certainly ways down.
We went back & did Horizontal Hill as a seperate day trip from Narcissus hut (pretty disappointed with the camping at Lake Marion, if there were more of it it would be really nice.
If you haven't done it I'd have thought going over Gould would be more enjoyable?
