Thanks for that I just watched it.

Premier Reece was certainly an old b&*^%$d. Is there any movement towards restoring it at some stage?

If you did a quick google on 'restore lake pedder', you'd find out.

There's a thread in here - I think it's called 'The Historic Lake Pedder' (or something like that), with photos of the real lake and a discussion on the restoration. Worth a read if you're really interested.

edit: There are two threads. This one, which has photos of the real lake: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=699
and this, which is just about restoration: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=18671

Thanks I may have had a look at it in the past.

As a child we grew up quite poor. I remember in the late 70's or early 80's my father getting a job with the hydro and at the time it was a big windfall for our family financially.
Prior to that he was a log truck owner/driver.
To say that my upbringing was anti anything environmentalist is a massive understatement.
I was taught that logging and dams were the answer to our future.

Of course now that I'm almost grown up (some would say that's debatable) and I make my own decisions on these things I can see how wrong so much of it was, but let's just say I certainly got to see the other side of the coin!
