Hi maja,
was up at Mt Field on the 9th. No fresh snow for several days, and I suspect very little since.
Driving down Scotts Peak Road on Friday there was very little snow on the peaks considering the temp

Your best bet is to check out the snow cam at the bottom of the Mawson tow..
http://ski.com.au/snowcams/australia/tas/mawson1.html
If its looking okay then chances are the back country will have something to offer.
As you can see - right at the moment its a bit of a non-event.
Otherwise the ski club posts details on
http://www.ski.com.au about whether the tows are running.

yeah thanks guys.... i was frantically looking for a snow report or web cam for the mt field area - i managed to find the web cam site on ski.com i think, but it wasn't current for some reason. just washed footage of blurry weather with patches of rain on the lens. it stayed like that all week - i'm not sure how often the cam gets updated but it wasn't current. anyway checked it out jus now and there was some snow!! not great, but i think footage must have been recent!!!! so thanks!!! might have to wait a couple more weeks though for some good snow fall...

Yeah, temp has dropped and it's raining in Hobart, so I'm sure this w/end will be good for X-country at least.
I'm working 10 days straight so can't get up there as I'd hoped this w/end.
If you go let me know conditions.
Cheers
