A Couple of nights and some fishing

Mon 15 Mar, 2010 11:49 am

Hey All,

Just wanted to know if anyone could suggest somewhere that we can take a couple nights and also do some fishing while were up there. Preferably not fishing in lakes but more creeks and rivers.

The best spot I have been so far is in the WOJ area, although this is fishing in lakes. I spent 2 nights camped at the hut at Junction Lake, and spent a day fishing there, and a day fishing at Meston. There are several good spots in that area, and as far as I am aware, there are fish in the rivers. There is the option of staying in a hut or in a tent up there, the same at Lake Meston. As far as rivers go, the Derwent Valley has a few good spots.

You could try Lee's Paddocks/sections of the Mersey. Not very hard walking but I spent two nights in there in December, doing a bit of walking around the area and there was some nice fishing.
