Hi Young Hiker
Any of these walks in the Great Western Tiers are really good - a fantastic area and mostly only about one hour from Launceston:

overnighters or day walks?
You can get books on this- there are a heap of them- Family Walks in the Northwest, Family Walks in the Launceston Area and Family Walks in the Huon Valley are the ones I have.

Liffey Falls perhaps is a good one. Not that long but plenty to see along the way according to my guide. Havn't been there yet but will be this coming friday with a small group. Cheers Chris.
