I'm looking for any info on Hopetoun. It looks like an interesting traverse with a bit of scrub to get up each end. The only useful data found to date is a little on David Noble's site.

Check out Kevin Doran (MJD's father) 's book FEDERATION PEAK. He has a bit of info on the difficult ascent of this monster.
and there's this.

Thanks for the Brandon Lee link, will digest this later. Can't say I can find a copy of the book noted, but will look harder later this week.
I was contemplating this range as a link between from East of Picton to The Arthur Plains, but it is now clear that it is an escapade all in itself and a bit more to chew than just a link to avoid using the Eastern Arthurs as a link.

you would be much much much faster to use the eastern arthurs i would have thought. it's a small range and once on top can be traversed in one single long day.

I have been up Hopetoun from the Cracroft Junction. From what I remember it was scrub bashing through forest on the way up and back, not the worst I've been in though but I was young and fit and just had a day pack. On top it was lots of scrambling up and down over multiple peaks. We didn't all get time to reach the top so it must have been a long day.

The only notes to it I've seen are Keith Lancasters journals, that wildtiger report and a short section in chapman's southwest book.
