G'day Genesis,
Lees Paddocks Track is good albeit very muddy in places especially this time of year ,it is around 7km to the Hut so you should allow at least 5 hours return to take advantage of all that it offers :)

Cheers Corvus,

I will give it a whirl ! I have some friends from the mainland and have been taking them on some day walks,Mount Roland last Friday and hoping Lees this Sunday.
looks like being cold but will add to the charm, that is what I will tell them anyway :)

Don't forget the two waterfalls along the way.

Got up there today, and the weather was great, blue skies and snow topped peaks, Pelion, castle crag, cathedral all covered what a sight it was!
The hut is well kept thanks to the walkers creed! looks like a warm place on a cold windy night. I will be getting back up there for an overnighter (or longer) soon, any tips on what to explore while up there? I hear there is a cave close by? I was always thinking of heading upstream toward the never never...

Glad you enjoyed the walk "the paddocks " are like a magnet to me and it is a destination I never tire of,the hut is kept clean by the owners and their friends and not always respected by walkers as I have carried out rubbish in the past mostly empty bottles.
The cave I have heard about but cannot get any information on (may have some indigenous value) there is also a really nice waterfall "Ladder Falls " further up the valley and some substantial overhangs worth a visit as is Wadleys Hut which is in a perfect setting.
As for heading to the Never Never you will need very good navigational skills to head up "Hartnetts track" to the Overland before you head down to Harnett Falls and the start of the Never Never :)

Thanks Corvus,

I agree with you on the the "magnet" title, I will be getting up there again, probably use this access to get to the overland and all that is offered there.
I am heading up the walls in November for 5 days and coming out via lake Myrtle and bill, but mu next walls trek will involve coming out via the never never down to lees.
This is yet to be planned but that is the idea in my head. I love living in tassie, I feel spoilt! but someone has to do it right Corvus!
