I am thinking of doing the s.w.cape walk, flying in to melaleuca , whats the chance of the chopper picking me up at window pane bay if i accidentaly sprain my ankle or run out of tucker, i am not very experienced with an epirb...i assume you just press a button and wait for the chopper to pick you up......?

I presume someone is taking the *&^%$#!......

Or wants some *&%$#!? "i am planning to go there soon, start at farmhouse ck. mt. bobs etc. end up at cockle creek.whats it like going down the salisbury river...is it as scrubby and miserable as people say it is...?" in a Vanishing Falls seems to support ILUV's comment
Considering a one way trip with a free flying taxi out?

I don't know, I was seriously thinking of spraining an ankle up on PB when I saw what the descent to Cavern Camp was going to be like . . .

Yep. Cavern camp is just great, the forest is gorgeous, the traverse of PB'S cliffs is mind blowing, and the route up PB itself is alot of fun. Then when your on top, well it's probably my all time favorite summit.

The pic just says so much, bit like being on the New Harbour Range or Rugby, still my favourite walks, when you've been there you know, if you haven't you don't, it's hard to pin down why, it just is!
Something about the real SW I guess......

Nailed it like a $2........burger.
Also the campsite at Window pane is just stunning. Fisherman obviously use it from time to time, washed up debris has been set up to make a table, benches... seats.... even rocks lining the entrance to the campsite like a garden path. It's just magic!! And your secluded and safe in the campsite, but it;s a 10second walk to have a gander up the beach.. or at the swell. Art the sea eagles that live there.... sigh, wanna go do the SW circuit in Nov?.

Yes, but for anyone with even slightly dodgy knees, the descent to Cavern is a monumental pain. Not that it takes that long, but there's no *&%$#! let up. It's agonising.

*&%$#!.
If it wasn't for all the creek crossings . . . *shiver*
Bathurst and New Harbour Ranges, that'd do me. If I could afford the airfare . . .

Creeks, Rivers, Inlets, whatever. Reading the notes there seems to be a lot of getting wet.

Does it have to be November? My long service leave doesn't come through until early December.
