Hobart environs day walks for Christmas!

As I will be working during the Christmas New Year period (although with some flexibility as to when) I am looking for some ideas for day walks in the general area. There are a few criteria though:
• Far from the madding crowds, so Mt Wellie is almost certainly out
• Not requiring mountain goat capabilities as I don’t do mountain climbing and I prefer my ascents something closer to the horizontal than the vertical
• Interesting, from the perspective of a macro lens as well as a zoom
• Distance from Hobart isn’t too much of a concern provided I can get there, complete the wander and get back in a day
• I have a 4wd but with road tyres and no 4x4 experience
I was thinking about:
• Snowy South
• Tarn Shelf (might be crowded though)
• Ran out of ideas about then
Any suggestions?

Most things in Tassie have a climb associated with them, Snowy South being one in question, even Tarn Shelf needs to be climbed up to.
Give Tarn Shelf a go and if that's too steep give Snowy South a miss. Other options in Mt Field would be Lady Baron/Horseshoe Falls.

South Cape Rivulet would be appropriate, with South Cape Bay being the easier alternative.
Hartz Mtns is the easiest high place to get to even if it is just up to Hartz Pass. Lots of small things to be seen on the way with an awesome view at the pass.
Mariotts Falls.
Lake Judd.
Buckland Gorge
Freycinet
Tasman Penninsular - any of the daywalks. Cape Raoul is amazing.

Wellington Falls from The Springs is a flat walk usually devoid of crowds.

I have done all these as daywalks from Hobart, can't think of too many other flat walks in the sth.

It doesn't have to be flat, just not vertical enough for a ladder to be handy!

I've done the Russell, Horseshoe and Lady Barron Falls and would expect them to be somewhat popular. I have nothing against groups of people, I just don't want to be dodging around them.

I've made several attempts at Hartz, froze the first time when I found I'd left my gloves behind (it snowed later that day) and got blown off the second time - I saw whitecaps on Esperance! I'll have a look at South Cape Rivulet and Buckland Gorge. Cape Raoul is on the list as well as several others out that way, I wandered along Waterfall Bay track (?) a few months ago.

Agree with the suggestion of Cape Raoul! Views are outstanding from the photos I've seen (I haven't been there).

That's my plan anyway. I'll be in Hobart for 2 full days. One of those is Christmas Day, so the other I am hoping will be good weather for a walk out to the Cape. I'm just trying to convince a relo or two to go with me. Crowds might not be too bad if tourists are focused on the more well known locations. Locals will probably be shopping or otherwise occupied.
