walking paths

Postby TerraMer » Wed 05 Sep, 2012 7:59 pm

Getting away from bushwalking for a bit, I'm looking for walking paths and pedestrian friendly rail trails following the main roads, waterways, old rail lines, etc, etc between towns all around Tassie.
I am about to start a bit of walking from town to town and would like to avoid the roads when possible.
Does anyone know of some handy links to this kind of information?

Here is a good place to start but, to be honest, there are not many of these trails in Tasmania.

Look for Tasmanian Trail

Some sections are on roads, but mostly unsealed roads or forest tracks and the roads are not very busy. It goes from Devonport to Dover, but you can select any interesting section you like and it is is easy to start and stop wherever convenient.
