jane river mission

Postby alex75 » Wed 14 Nov, 2012 11:41 am

Gday all, thinking of doing a 3 or 4 dayer in to Jane River area to try and find the remains of the old piners hut. Keen to know if anyone has been in there and what, if anything they found? I assume chimney and some gear would still be at the site...going to go south from Loddon Plains and plan to avoid as much of the scrub as possible along the way. Much of the area looks open on the way through to the area we plan to search.

Heard huts are still standing, track is reasonable except a bit overgrown around Margaret pass. Probably be good to get some advice on finding the start as parks have done a fairly good job of hiding it.
