scotts peak parking

Thu 15 Nov, 2012 4:26 pm

Is it generally safe to leave car there for 3 days ?

Also. is scotts peak to lake oberon a good 3 day walk. I am alone so looking for something generally quite tough, but not looking to get lost or fall off a ledge. I was also thinking of the mt anne circuit but this may be pushing it in 3 days. Which one do people recommend ? Any others to think about.

Both good walks. Really fit people do the Mt Anne circuit as a daywalk, 3 days would be plenty. Night one on the Eliza plateau or Shelf camp. Night 2 at Lonely tarns, then walk out on the 3rd day.

EDIT - Oh yeh, left my car at Scotts peak and in the Anne carpark quite a few times, haven't had or seen anyone have a problem.

Bear in mind the terrain past Shelf camp out to the Notch requires some basic scrambling.

Haven't had any reports of car break ins at Scott's peak for a couple of years. Recent traveller from europe left very expensive mtn bike unchained in the shelter there for a week no problem. I reckon it's too far out for low life's...

Another vote for Mt Anne Circuit - best short week (2-4 day) walk in Tassie in my humble opinion.

3 days is not pushing it at all for Mt Anne (if you mean 3 days on track) - indeed that is a comfortable timeframe (weather willing).
