Fagus in the Walls?

Does anyone know a good spot for fagus in the Walls?
Planning to be there the week after Easter it would be a shame to miss out on the colours, but I can't find any reference anywhere.
Do hope it's not a fagus-free zone!

Head down to Lake Ball and follow the lakeside track west. There is a bit of fagus there, though not a great deal.

The only fagus i saw was around Ball Hut as pedro has said. There should be enough there to satisfy your needs.

Just got back on sunday 5/4 from a week btn Higgs track and Lake StClair and what Fagus we saw had not even started to turn.
When does it usually start?

Normally around ANZAC Day is usually best - but it kinda varies depending on how cold things get beforehand.

There is (or was) a poster available showing where the fagus and other Tasmanian ornate timbers are (or were) located. I obtained the last copy at the Cradle Mt visitors centre a few years ago. An old Forestry Commission publication from about 1991.

The orange is fagus. The pink is Huon Pine and Green is King Billy Pine. The blue is dead (burnt) King Billy.

Hey there. Just got back from the Walls, it hasn't turned yet, its a little behind Cradle Mountain which is already on its way.

Lake Ball & Lake Adelaide are probably your best bets for fagus, you can't quite get the appreciation of it as much as you can at say Crater Lake in Cradle Valley but still worth a bo-peep if your in the area.
