Ragged jack rj 7 track

G'day all,
After some information, I was up walking up the rj 7 track as a friend of mine said it was a fantastic location , we crossed a creek an followed the track up around an came to a old hut on a marshy plain , does anyone have any details if who owns this , I would love to find out an stay a night , it it apart of the ski lodge??

It's a private hut on a private small block of land. A friend mentioned he heard it is owned by an academic from UTAS in Hobart.

Remember seeing the same hut (if it's the one in the saddle between Ben Lomond and Ragged Jack?) when we were up there a few weekends ago. Lovely spot! Did you guys make it up Ragged Jack? We did, but took a wrong turn somewhere and ended up spending 6 hours getting there and back... Oops! :P

Yah, that's the one. Haha I think better to put it as took a different route? Needed to go further along to the left of the cliffs I think, never found the grassy area mentioned in the Abels description. Meant we ended up at the back of the plateau and had to go through more scrub to get there. Then again, could be that we took the right route and are just really slow in scrub! Who knows :P

As long as you got there and back safely, and had a good time, that's all that matters!!

We wondered about the hut when we were there too.

Yep sure is a great spot up there, there is a sign up there with a number, is us a southern number but is is dis connected .. I would love to know or get hold of a number for the people who owns it...

Wonder if we can claim squatters rights haha
