Hi shaneashley,
1. Most of the walking along that section is simply along the beach or through the path of least resistance amongst the rocks. There is one section towards the end of Cod Bay where the track cuts inland for maybe 500m, it's marked by a heap of bouys in the scrub, about 200-300m from the southern end of the beach. Once you find it it's very easy to follow.
2. I wouldn't drink any of the water along the coast. Carry all you need.
3. Inlets are all passable except after the north east coast gets hit with one of it's rare 100mm in a hour type rain events. Deep creek can vary from knee high or less to waist high depending on the tide/output. If crossing at high water then consider the longer but less swell affected crossing upstream near the shacks. Aim for the picnic tables.
4. You could quite easily walk from Stumpy's Camp 4 to Deep creek in 6 hours (about 12k roughly). So I would say enjoy it as a day walk and save yourself the heavy pack!
Enjoy it, it's a beautiful spot!
