Walking companion(s) wanted for Vanishing falls walk

Postby trmj » Thu 06 Nov, 2014 9:11 pm

I have a planned walk to vanishing falls, next Feb 2-16.
My planned walking partner has pulled out. I have my flights (from Adelaide) booked and am keen to still do it.
see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fg12zzr ... e=youtu.be or posts on this forum for details on a previous VF walk.
(I think there are easier ways in than via Mt Victoria Cross - intention is from Tramp Camp - Kameruka Moraine)
It will be a hard 14 day walk (one rest day, and 3 easy days back along south coast track; and day walk up Precipitous Bluff). Also carrying ~1kg raft for New River section.

Anyone interested?
(note you would need to be an experienced walker and have had some taste of walking off track in tassie scrub)

About me: I have been a member of Adelaide Bushwalkers for many years, currently club secretary, I've done extended walks in tassie most summers over the last 12 or more years. Hardest walk for me probably the Eldon range. I'm 52.

Cheers
Trevor

I'd love to go, sadly I'll have uni then :'(

Good luck and I hope you'll find someone to go with.
Men wanted for hazardous journey. Low wages, bitter cold, long hours of complete darkness. Safe return doubtful.

Hi Trevor

This sounds like a great walk and I have admired the previous trip reports and video's of this trip.
I'll look into the dates but at this stage not sure if they will work for me but will let you know.
I'm also from Adelaide but love Tassie walks and the harder the better!
Regards

Phil
