I've been watching this post for a while now and been wondering just what was this all about and what happened if anything. I'd love to know as the whole thing intrigued me .

My guess is he took one look at real SW scrub and ran home whimpering to his mummy.

Does anyone still have a copy of the trip report produced at the end of this?
I tried contacting the OP a few weeks ago but didnt get a reply. After staying up for hours reading through the entire thread id really like to read the final report. If anyone still has a copy and wouldnt mind emailing it to me please send me a PM and i'll give you my email address.

So - I'm thinking that you may not fit the nurturing/gender stereo type NNW ?

I can be kind when it's warranted. Just don't suffer fools gladly and this bloke had 'ARROGANT IDIOT' tattooed across his forehead in flashing neon colours.

Funniest thread ever.
re Toilet paper, may I suggest a rolled up gum leaf and a deft and adroit "scooping" motion.
Perhaps a large, or several, large helium balloons tied to your pack may enable you to walk on the water?

Nah, the breminator's little adventure took that award, especially before it was edited.

You called the helicopter twice? How much did that cost you?
And where did you meet them? I thought that you couldn't get a helicopter to land in a National Park?
DONT mention the helicopter

I'm wondering if/when he realised that the 90gm for a single Backcountry meal referred to the contents, not the whole packet. Lord, can you imagine humping all that rubbish out of there?

Would still love to read the final trip report if anyone still has it saved on their computer. Surly someone must still have it?
Travis.

I only have Ollie's version. Which would probably get me banned. Might do a PM around amongst a few acquaintances and see if it can be dug out.

I have it I think. This is the "New River / Federation Peak Expedition Dec 2009" you are looking for?
If I can extract it off the iPhone I can send it. Otherwise will have to wait till I get back to my desktop (at snow atm) send a PM.

Thanks, photohiker. PM would be best.
Nah, corby, it's not the thread we're after, it's the final trip report Dave put together when it was all over. I did ask for it but never got it - I think he was fed up with the whole thing by then.
Fri 31 Jul, 2015 6:57 pm
No wonder given the attitude. Nothing funny at all about what unfolded, even in reading the report.
I also was under the impression he gave that out in confidence?
Fri 31 Jul, 2015 7:12 pm
I think he gave it to anyone who asked.
If he's still around, I'm happy to abide by any request he might make.

Judging by what i read in the thread as it exists today, yes i seemed that he was happy to Email the report out to anyone who asked except for a few individuals who he had indescrepencies with throughout the course of the thread.
After only recently becoming aware of his trip / the thread and after reading it naturally im very interested to read the trip report. I think it would be a great read despite the unsuccessful trip, i think everyone can take plenty of positives away from reading the story and first hand accounts of what went wrong.
I tried sending a PM to Dave but i never received a reply.

Actually, I DID find aspects of humour, irony and what was probably good natured ribbing, in this thread.
Sometimes a lighthearted perspective is refreshing, a nice change from the dour pragmatism so often on display.
So, yes, sorry to offend any sensibilities, I prefer to see aspects of amusement.
Not ridicule, merely an ability to laugh at life.
Anyway.
Again, I will shut it.

Aloftas, Nuts isnt referring to this thread. Have a look at the link in Corvus's post above.
