Snow to low areas in Tasmania

Snow has settled on the Dial Range,
And it is currently snowing at Penguin :)

We already have a thread on this (Melaleuca forecast). Was it really necessary to start another?

Dial Range, Schmial Range. There's snow sitting in my yard, and not only is this beachside, it's always one of the drier, sunnier and warmer areas in Southern Tassie.

It is STILL a free country is it not?

No, handing out abuse because of a mild question is one of the things that can give bushwalking a bad name. In my not so humble opinion, anyway.

It's easier to have a discussion on a specific topic if there is only one thread dedicated to that topic. It keeps the forum neater and is far more convenient for the users. But hey, if being told that bothers you so much I'll go and 'snivel' elsewhere. Have fun, folks.

Was a great little side trip.
Plenty of snow, plenty of wind and blizzard conditions up the top.
A marked difference up there from down here.

Yep, was plenty about early this morning, but melted fairly quickly.

I'm on the eastern shore and we had maybe 40mm. Nice.

I'm down in Franklin at about 250m alt and couldn't get out of my road until lunchtime. We had a nice little dumping... I see it's coming back down to 100m tomorrow evening and Wednesday... Maybe no work again....

Thanks MB. According to a neighbour, in the valley where we live and roundabouts, 100 - 150mm fell.

Whilst not low lying, I was up Black Bluff today and there is still snow up there. I even made a snowmanlet, so cute you could like him to death. (eh meant lick, but you could also like him as well).

Had a snow-ball fight with my kids at Lake Esperance yesterday. Just a couple of patches lying near the track to make it possible. Plenty more snow up on the nearby mountains.
