"The Narrows" Boat Alert for Port Davey Track

Postby weetbix456 » Sat 05 Dec, 2015 11:29 am

Heya,

We were recently (26/11/15) down Scott's Peak way and noticed a Parks statement pinned to the registration booth about how both row boats located at "The Narrows" have somehow found their way across to the southern shore. Whoops. I'm not sure how quickly they plan to rectify this situation, but I thought it would be safer to make as many people aware in advance coming into summer. Can imagine a few hungry heroes getting their swim fins on. Any updates here would be much appreciated.

One option to check their status would be to contact Par Avion as their pilots who take tourists on their "Day in the Wilderness" tours go past the narrows for lunch on Balmoral Beach and normally point out the boat ramps to their group as part of the Bathurst Harbour tour. I know of several people who have also arranged with Par Avion to be taken from Melaleuca to the northern side of the narrows when there are spare seats on their tour boats.

Weetbix and I have just come back from here and the boat situation has been rectified.
