Mt Patrick

Postby bushwalker zane » Sun 20 Mar, 2016 2:42 pm

Hello all!

I am thinking of going up Mt Patrick (the one near Great Lake) soon, but I know it is on private land. I was wondering if anyone had contact details of the land-owners that I could get in touch with?

Cheers,
Zane :)

Just hang on a sec and I'll try to dig it out. Have it somewhere . . .

$5 road access fee, payable when you pick up the key. If you haven't done Penny West, do it on the same day as they're both very short walks (Patrick can be done within a half hour return i9f you drive far enough up the correct road).

This is public info so I suppose it's OK to post it here: Ingrid, on 03 6259 8204 or 0428 314 561

Nice people and very easy to deal with.

Hi NNW,

Cheers for that! I knew there was a small payment, but the only phone number I could get was an old one in the Abels volume 1!

Zane.

Just gave Ingrid a call - $10 per car these days and no access during deer season! So, I'll have to wait a few months...

What is the charge for? Is it just a bit of pocket money for the land owner?

Not exactly. It's private property and a private road, so they charge for access to cover the cost of road maintenance. It's fair enough (although it felt a lot fairer when it was only $5).

Season dates are interesting:
Adult Male 27/02/2016 – 03/04/2016
Antlerless 12/03/2016 – 03/04/2016 and 14/05/2016 – 03/07/2016

Wonder why they have that 6 week gap in the antlerless season?

Maybe that's when they go on holiday each year?
