I reckon if you're interested in it you should do it!
I haven't done the Experience but last week we completed an overnight walk that took in all the track bar the first day from the boat to the junction with the old Cape Pillar track. The new track is super easy walking with sections of boardwalk that seem to go on forever. Of course, I know is not everyones cup of tea, especially upon this forum, but I think this caters to a different, likely larger portion of the community. We checked out the Munro and Retakunna huts in detail after meeting walkers doing the experience and getting a tour. The huts are amazing. They have everything you could want and need and are clearly designed for newbies in this sort of area, not hardened Tassie walkers. I think the huts sit nicely in the environment and until you actually arrive at them you wouldn't know they are there. Munro in particular has spectacular views. We didn't stay at the huts obviously, we camped at the only approved campsite Wughalee Falls. This site is a 15minute walk down a very steep dirt track from the new Cape Pillar track. It is a nice campsite with 8 large tent platforms, water and drop toilet and the option to make a circuit that connects up with the 3 Capes track a third of the way up Mt. Fortescue. This track is still included on the latest maps of the 3Capes track but it is a bit overgrown and a total goat track compared to the new track - so it's basically like any other track in Tassie other than the OLT, South Coast and 3 Capes.
We saw a tonne of elderly couples, families with young children and even people with disabilities doing the experience. It seemed fun with them all sharing the experience together and I know they wouldn't be out there if it wasn't for the new set up.
