Camping around NE Abels

Postby bluewombat » Tue 30 Aug, 2016 8:21 pm

Having been inspired to see if I can wander up a few of the Abels in north east next week (Victoria, Albert, Maurice, Barrow etc but not East or West Tower) can anyone tell me if there is a good campsite on any of them, or recommend a nice place to camp somewhere nearby
cheers

I've camped at Myrtle Park (small fee) and at the Griffin Camping area (free) and found them both good bases for NE peak bagging.

Thanks Rohjoe
Myrtle park was great and a bargain at $10 with hot showers and fire pits. I suspect it would be very busy in summer given its proximity to Launceston, but there were only 4 vans and my little tent there last week
