Marooned boat on Passage Beach

Postby L_Cham_67 » Thu 08 Dec, 2016 2:55 pm

A friend and I just got back from the Freycinet Peninsula, where we went down to Passage Beach. We came across a marooned boat which had newspapers from June 2016 inside it as well as quite a few pieces of rubbish and various other items. The rangers told us it had been there for quite a number of months now, and I just found it curious how it's still there after all this time! It certainly wasn't the type of debris you'd expect to see washed up on a beach  . Has anyone else been down there recently and seen it too or know a bit more about it?

Quite possibly one of the yachts that broke from their mooring during the mammoth floods we had here in June/July.
