Anne/ South Coast transport

Tue 24 Nov, 2009 10:26 am

HI all,

Not sure if this belongs here or not, but here goes all the same. We are planning to either climb Mt Anne or attempt the SC track early next year - but as we are flying in we need transport. Can anyone update me on the availability of public transport (bus etc.) to these locations? Ta.

This question is the subject of another thread. refer: http://bushwalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=954
And it also appears in an earlier thread: http://bushwalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=953&p=7081#p7081
Very relevant to me as we are looking at the Anne circuit in Jan.

I also often fly to Tas for hiking, and am doing so for the Mt Anne track this Friday. in the past I've used the charter mini-bus service, but they are fairly pricey. With four of us tackling the Mt Anne circuit over 4 days, this time around it is going to actually be cheaper to get a hire car and leave it at the carpark for the 4 days. Even for longer trips this might be more economical - certainly worth comparing to the mini-bus services. Can usually get cheap rental car prices through online deals, too. Just head to the google-ator.
