Lake Belcher

Postby Inti » Mon 04 Jan, 2010 7:37 pm

Mt Feild National Park, walk starts on left hand side of Lake Dobson Road a km or 2 before Lake Dobson car park. The sign said 5 hours return, but it took me 6.5 as it was a little more strenuous (and muddy  ) than I thought, but a good day walk (3-01-10). Weather was perfect.

My guess is, it was the return journey up from the Humboldt River to the saddle below Mawson that caught you?
Always a good idea to check the contour lines on the map, and weigh that up against your hill climbing experience/fitness level for such a walk.
I know plenty that could do it in 4, the track along that ridge is a great place to spend some time though :)
Did you get up to Lake Belton as well?
