Mobile Coverage - Denison Range

Postby stepbystep » Sat 09 Jan, 2010 11:01 am

Hi all,
wondering if anyone knows if there is 3G coverage from the Denison Range - Reads Peak etc.
My phone has had no trouble from The Thumbs and from High Camp Hut on Eliza.
Cheers, sbs

Can't provide you with recent info but some years ago I got CDMA reception from the top of the spur entering Lake Rhona and so i am sure would have got reception from Reed's Peak. Unforunately, didn't look to see if there was reception when I was there recently, but I would have thought it was very likely, particularly with Telstra.
Hope this helps
Cheers
Simon

This site is very handy for keeping an eye on fires. Living where I do it's a constant worry at this time of year!!

The fires are still some way off from the usual walking areas in the Denisons and a front is on its way so hopefully that will dampen things down overnight.

Back on the phone coverage. Climbed Mt Reid with a group in April 2007 where Telstra reception was strong.
