Hi Everyone. Can you let me know if it is relatively safe to leave a car at Scotts Peak Dam car park area when we are completing the Western Arthur A-K walk. Just planning ahead but interested in views. Or are we better arranging transport from Hobart?

Totally fine, I've done it multiple times. Mind you torching my car is a waste of a match.

Never heard of a car being broken into down there. It's a bit too far out for the average *&^%$#@! vandal or thief.

Never had a problem over multiple trips, nor have many friends.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Always a better option to have the car there.

At Scott Peak Dam is it best to leave the car near the bushwalkers registration booth just below Red Knoll Lookout or Huon camp ground. Looks like near the bushwalkers registration booth is closer to the end of the track just wanted to check you can park there?

Depending on the time of year and weather you'll probably get a spot in the carpark at the track head. There's about 20 spots. It can be busy and overflow but you'll find a spot nearby or at the campground if so.
Nothing to see here.
