In 2014 my family wondered how many day walks in Tasmania had been published in books, brochures and roadside signs. We made the
StepScape website to index them, and so far have 2,145 walks. Some of you Tasmanian walkers already use it. Thank you especially to everyone who has filed corrections.
But websites require Internet connections, so we have been working on an iOS app that retains most of its functions while offline.

The app is working sufficiently that we are looking for about 20 people to beta test it.
While the StepScape website will remain free with all its existing information, our plan is to sell the final app.
What You RequireAn iPhone, iPad or iPod touch running iOS 12.2 or higher
(To check your iOS version, open "Settings" > "General" > "About" and look under "Software Version".
You don't need to be familiar with the StepScape website or to have existing technical skills.

What You Will SeeYou will receive an e-mail from Apple's "Testflight" beta-testing system, explaining what to do from there. You will need to install Apple's Testflight app, which will then act like a special version of the App Store for testing.
What We Ask You to DoOne to two hours of your time:
- Spend some time exploring the app.
- Attempt some specific tasks we ask about.
- Complete a survey to say if it made any sense.
