Exploring the Franklin River?

just wondering wether anyone has explored this area and what thoughts folks may have on this region?
can food drops be arranged and with who?
i am guessing that boat / raft via queenstown? hmmm
just distant idea atm..... sounding it out a bit... :)

Trevor, who runs the Stormbreaker yacht out of Strahan, was hoping that he might in future be able to drop off rafters at the beginning of the Eagle Creek Track and pick them up later down near Butler Island, where he picks up the commercial trips. He was hoping to find someone who could blaze a first, to see how it went, but this was some years ago.
