Weather prediction for June (as much as possible!)

Postby Drifting » Sun 08 May, 2011 9:26 am

First let me state that I know accurate weather prediction in Tasmania is impossible, so I'll hold no one to their answers!

What sort of conditions (Rain/Snow/Temperatures AND hut usage) could I expect for Pine Valley Hut and Lake St Clair in June?

It could be anywhere between cold and wet to warm and sunny. I wouldn't imagine the huts being too full in June. As for snow, that can happen any time of year. I was up king William in January and Rufus on good Friday, and it snowed while I was there. Do you have flexibility to pick the weather? If you can wait for a high to pass. The nights will be cold, but the days are usually pretty clear

that's what I needed to know.

Thanks!

I think we CAN make a prediction. It will probably be cold, wet (possibly snowy) and windy. Usage of Pine Valley hut will be low.

I was there for the queen's birthday long weekend last June (or the year before perhaps?). There was about 6 people in the Pine Valley hut sat and sun night. It was wet and warmish... about 12 degree days, but you could cop anything. Safe bet is that there will be precipitation of some sort. It could come sideways, solid, soft or heavy, but its pretty much guaranteed. :)

Heaps of stats on above link for Lake St Claire, enjoy!
