Thanks frenchy_84. I was thinking of doing the east-west doing all the side trips i can find such as collins bonnet. Would I still soon get bored. I like to walk alot, for example one day, I was at mount anne circuit high camp, and decided instead I would walk some of the WA. So i walked down from there, drove, and the walked the davey track to the bottom of alpha morraine at teh camp site there, didn't like how the weather was closing in, so walked back just so that I could do lake judd the next day. I think that was a good 10-12 hour day. Would I be stretching it for things to keep me busy in wellington. I haven't yet developed the skill of slowing down, enjoying the serentity and nature. I usually have 2 or 3 days after each work trip in hobart, and haven't yet explored closer to the city. I was just hoping for a time when I don't have to hire a car, purely to leave it n the car park for 3 days ! But if you reckon picton or rhona is better, thats great. I do like the sounds of some rivers and water fall though, or have I got a misconception of mount wellington.
