Tarkine Trip (first timer)

Postby tomkilla1 » Wed 13 Feb, 2013 8:14 pm

Hi there,

A few friends and I are planning to visit the Tarkine next week for a two nighter. We have never been to the area and hope to gain information from those that have spent time in the rainforest. As a new member i am unable to PM anyone therefore would appreciate if knowledgeable members could contact me, perhaps by email with information on reaching the Tarkine Falls and Heaven. (trip notes and map would be brilliant)

Thanks

Tom

These guys have run tours on those tracks for many years. They don't mind helping with info: http://www.tarkinetrails.com.au/

Let me know how you go Tom.

I have a couple of weeks off mid March and plan to do some exploring out that way so would appreciate your insights. Heck if you end up delaying things, drop me a line and I'll tag along!

Based on tidas post oct2011, the carpark is at Farquars Bridge across Arthur River.

Farquars Bridge is a gated bridge, you can cross it but you need to climb the locked gates at each end. There is not really much of a car park there, but you should be fine if you park well to the side so as not to obstruct the possible mining vehicles that use the bridge.

Do you have a plan for your trip yet?

Walked in the area early this year. No mining vehicles were seen beyond Farquars Bridge.
