Gear/Clothing Hire

Postby jasonthomas » Sat 01 Jun, 2013 10:16 am

Hello,

I have joined your forum to try and source some information for an upcoming visit to Tasmania.

It is in the last week of July and we are travelling from Brisbane so will be sure to notice the cold. I grew up in Tassie so want to take the family on a bit of a trip and hopefully see some snow. We are thinking Cradle mountain for a couple of nights. We are not intending on doing any bushwalking per se but would like to enjoy the outdoors and play in the snow if it is there.

We have no real winter clothes and are not going to buy them for a week so want to try and hire them. Footwear suitable for cold/wet/snow and jacket and over trousers suitable for cold/wet/snow. We have everything for underneath including beanies and gloves so just need the outer layers.

Hoping someone can direct me to the best places in Launceston that can cater for two adults and 2 children 7 & 3. Have done some website inquiring and some of the hire prices seem quite large. Almost would be cheaper to buy?? The hire would be for 48-72 hours and mid week so I'm looking for good prices.
Not sure if there might even be someone out there wanting to hire gear privately???

Thanks for any replies and help in advance.

Regards,
Jason

Hi Jason
Have you looked at Mountain Bike Tasmania?

If common sense is so common, why don't you see more of it?
