BWT anniversary get together?

Postby Taurë-rana » Mon 03 Feb, 2014 3:51 pm

Just wondering if there is a post about this anywhere - I've seen it on the HWC circular, but can't find it here...

As far as I'm aware there was no BWT gathering last year, and nothing planned for this year. If anybody wants to make it happen, just go for it! :-)

I organised them for the first 5 anniversaries, but ran out of time and motivation last year. If somebody else got it organised, I'd try to attend if I could.

Maybe ask them where they're getting their info from? If nobody here knows anything about it, then it's rather curious. Are you sure it's related to this site or its members?

Are we talking about two different things here? The get together referred to in the February 2014 HWC circular (21-24 March) is being organised by BushwalkingTasmania which I think may have previously been known as the Federation of Tasmanian Bushwalking Clubs (FTBC).....

 Ah, there's BWT and there's BWT. No wonder I'm confused but then it doesn't take much!

I've got PMs disabled on my account here (to avoid people PM'ing me about site/admin issues now that I'm no longer an admin). Can you email me? nixanz (at) nixanz (dot) com

Trying to stick to the "dates" I thought that the long weekend 8/10 March could be a good time .
In an attempt to make it easy for all ages and or fitness through injury or whatever(and would still include some nice walks) rather than ask for suggestions I believe that Narwuntapu NP could be an ideal get together location this year.

Sounds like a good plan. I won't be able to make it though, due to having another walk already booked in for that weekend.

I sure hope my new LWD pack raft turns up by then. :-)

Sorry for the non-reply, this weekend was already booked for me - Panama music festival in the forest at Golconda. I'll also be busy at Easter, and next weekend. I would have been keen for a get together to do some walking but my walking is going to be severely limited for some time after badly aggravating what has turned out to be femoral patella syndrome.

G'day,
Sorry to read about your knee problems and possible curtailment of Walks :(
I also have a couple of leg problems some are Arthritis related which has slowed me down to no walks since tackling Tyndal peak last year.
Perhaps a Winter BWT anniversary can be organised.
What about Xmas In July at Scott Kilvert Hut ??
