I was wondering if anyone is a member of either the Hobart walking club or Pandani as I wanted to join a club around Hobart to improve in bush skills, and wanted to hear your thoughts on these two or perhaps you can recommend another club?

You can do a walk or two with a club before you decide to join. I would recommend that you try each club to get a feel and go from there. Both are very good clubs with many regular walks. Launceston Walking Club is also very good as is the University Club. Plenty to chose from and huge amounts of experience to learn from and improve your skills.

The Launceston club would be a bit of a drive. It would be awesome if there was a central Highland club, but you can't have every thing

Thanks for the tip

I ran into a group of three walkers from pandani on PB at the start of the year. (First climb of the season and two groups meet on the summit, both ascending a different route)
They seemed like a decent group but definitely incredibly fit - they were doing PB as a day trip from leaning ti tree saddle.
Your best bet for introductory hikes would be to see if any of them are planning any day trips in the central highlands. Most clubs prefer you doing a day trip first; and you can meet them with less driving on your part.
Have fun!

Pandani has walkers and walks of all levels of fitness, very friendly as is HWC

I walk with both HWC and Pandani, with nothing but good things to say about either club.
