Something to do in the bush this Sunday (3rd August)

Postby tasadam » Wed 30 Jul, 2014 8:16 pm

Hi there.
The Cradle Coast Mountain Bike Club is looking for helpers to work on a track in the Dial Range this Sunday.
So I am posting this here on their behalf in case you're interested.
If you're at a loose end and want to do something that will be appreciated by many, please take a look -

Hi folks!
I am organising a get-together this Sunday 3rd August 2014, so we can begin working on a bypass track to one of the hills that can’t be ridden.
Any assistance you can give will be much appreciated, the more the merrier.
We are all meeting at the boom gate to the MTB Park in Ironcliffe Road Penguin, at 11AM.
If you can come, or if you are interested, or if you would like to know more, please contact me at <email address (follow the link)>
Things you will or may need if you have -
Pick and shovel.
Chainsaw?
Safety gear as needed, gloves, wet weather gear.
Food and drink.
Access is by 4WD so if you have one of those we can use, that would be fantastic!
Again, if you can come, or if you are interested, or if you would like to know more, please contact me at <email address (follow the link)>
Cheers,
Marcus.

Some more detail HERE too.

Our family loves walking in the Rocky Cape National Park in NW Tasmania. From the Sisters Beach end we love to walk to the Wet Cave (taking a torch so we can see the water) then on to the Lee Archer Cave then back to the track that takes us to Anniversary Bay. What a spectacular view we get on the way and then we are always amazed at the beauty of this isolated beach. Sometimes the tracks get a bit overgrown but we always manage to get through ok. It's worth it just for the views especially on a nice, sunny day. It's the ideal short walk. We usually allow 2 - 3 hours so we can do some exploring or search for little shells on the beach. Our children love it. If anyone wants a short walk tomorrow then this would be ideal.
