Upper Hartz Falls

Has anybody been to the Upper Hartz falls? If so - what's the best way to get to them?

Looking at the maps, I was thinking about trying to follow the creek down from Hartz Lake - walking down the creek bed if needed. An alternative would be to come down of the south ridge line from Mt Snowy, then follow the contour around NW until I hit the creek. If anybody's been down that way, I'd appreciate info on how thick the scrub is, any alternative routes, etc.

I've no idea if the falls are worth it - I just saw them on the map and thought "well, I've never been there."

Upper Hartz Falls can be reached by following the ridge that is west of Hartz Lake, it is scrubby getting to the top but not too bad after that. It eventually drops into really old mossy forest prior to reaching the falls. Quite slow going though.
It is possible to walk up Hartz Creek and then leave it about 250-300 metres before the lake and return over the flank of Hartz.

That is the way we went several years ago (early April 1993) mainly because we thought it may be easier and quicker than returning along the ridge; even so it was quite dark by the time we reached the cars. The falls themselves are not that big and I haven't been tempted to return. My notes finish with the words "a strenuous trip"
