Walking Arm River to Pelion in Winter

Hi,
I'm visiting Tasmania in late June/early July and was thinking about walking to New Pelion hut via the ART and staying the night. In saying this, I've read about the often wild and unpredictable weather on the OLT during winter however I was just wondering if this particular part of the track is generally pretty manageable.
Any advice would be much appreciated
Thanks

Bar the short time is daylight it should be pretty doable. Have you walked in Tasmania before? If not then be prepared to call it off if there is any snow forecast or the weather is worse than usual.

If the road is open, the track should be passable unless it turns on a snowstorm while you're walking. It's only a half-day from the road into New Pelion.

Thanks! Yeah I've done the OT before and some other smaller walks but only during summer

Dean, I confess to losing the track in a snow storm. it was the first day with a late start and we decided to return to the trackhead after a couple of fruitless hours searching. We just did not fancy pushing on using bearings. Note that none of us walked that track before.

Well done. My first Ossa attempt was foiled by fog and a weather front. Second was the chute iced up as for you.
Third time lucky ?
