Water at High Moor

Sat 26 Dec, 2015 11:54 am

Hi, just wondering if anyone has done the Western Arthurs in the last week or so, and if there was water at High Moor? Parks is saying we shouldn't rely on it, but I've heard from others that it's unlikely to be dry. Would rather not carry extra water if we don't need to, but it's a bit of a gamble to not take extra if we're not certain of getting water there.

l walked the Western Arthurs in a horrendous heat wave years ago. We restricted ourselves to walking in early morning and evening due to the heat and lack of shade. It didn't rain all week.

There was water at High Moor.

Trust me, there will be water there. There's water everywhere *&%$#! else in the SW, it will be at High Moor too.

Yep, as above, there won't be a problem getting water at High Moor now.
There has been plenty of short hot spells up there in the past, but nothing like the extended dry that we have had this year. I was at Oberon last week and the small streams have started flowing again, unlike a couple of weeks earlier where most had stopped.

Fair weather to all heading that way, and stay safe.

Cheers

Great, thanks everyone! My gut feeling is that there will be water, but up to date info is always helpful after the warning from Parks.
