Sounds a bit suspect.

A MISSING bushwalker who made triple-0 calls from a phone registered to a dead NSW man has been found safe at his home in the state’s North.

Police received four triple-0 calls from a man claiming he was lost in bushland near the Curries River dam at around 6.15pm yesterday.

A poor mobile phone signal meant details were unable to be relayed.

Police searched bushland until around 2am this morning, locating an unregistered white Toyota Camry used by the man.

Searchers began combing the area again this morning.

The missing man was later found to have made his way to his home in the George Town area.

Investigations are continuing into how he came to be in possession of the phone.

Police reminded the public to notify them if they no longer require assistance after an emergency call.

I think the Journalists got it wrong. I doubt the person involved was bushwalking.
