Arve Rd Access

Postby cams » Sun 17 Jul, 2016 8:46 am

Just rocked up at Arve Rd on our way to Hartz Mountain to find the Rd closed. Can't find any mention of this online. Does anyone know the deal? I tried calling the Forestry Tas number but surprisingly no one is picking up on a Sunday morning.

Replying to myself in case anyone else is heading this way on this glorious day and is interested. The gate is across one side of the road and the airwalk is closed. We spoke to Karen at the info centre in Geeveston who wasn't sure why the gate was across and suggested just having a look anyway. heading up now.

Arve Road shouldn't be closed. Had bogans just pulled the gates closed? Might not have been locked.. ...gets pretty wild down that way at night #Hoons

Ta. We didn't end up actually checking to see if it was locked. Drove around it in the end along with a number of other parties that were up the mountain. Figured it was maybe the Airwalk people trying to deter people heading all the way down there even though there were signs up everywhere saying they were closed. Gate was still across at the end of the day.

Had a stunning day. Bit of wind, but you could see forever.
