Heading down to your fair isle in January for a few weeks. This trip I am bravely taking the fam (dad & 2 boys-10 & 12). I am trying to come up with a few walk options- I was quite keen to get them into the Walls area for a few days- a bit of a climb in but then nice lovely peaks which aren't too much effort. But it looks like that is out

Some other ideas
1. Dove lake over Hansons to Scott Kilvert. Then maybe face track plus or minus Cradle summit and back to Dove lake
2. Lake St Clair- Shadow Lake camp- little Hugel- lake (or extra night out to Rufus)
3. Lake Dobson- K Col (camp)- Newdegate Pass, Tarn Shelf- lake Dobson
4. Maria Island- Encampment Cove or maybe just day walks
Also could add in a little packraft trip- looking for something low grade- even just a nice little float with some nice camping to get the boys addicted

biggest problem is probably getting back to vehicle.
Any suggestions, hints, ideas appreciated. If the weather is not looking good these plans will change.
Boys have done overnight bushwalks but nothing too hard. They do enjoy rock scrambling.
Cheers
Lizzy
