I should've mentioned this back when I went to Cape Surville in November, but the access road to Cape Surville (Hylands Road I think) has partially collapsed, making driving onwards from it a risky pastime. From where I parked, you had to walk for 30-40 minutes along a road until you entered the National Park and reached the start of the track.
Who knows, this may well be fixed by now, but I thought it'd be worth posting for anyone heading out there, just so they are aware. Turning the car around at the collapse takes a 10 point turn

2020 update

Today we went out to Cape Surville and this is how far each type of car went

Hopefully this will help anyone trying to get out there



That "bridge" is fully cooked and dismantled

That bridge has been out for ages.
Careful driving will get almost anything bar a sports car about halfway from the creek to the start of the walking track - there's a climb with some rather nasty washouts that require proper high-clearance 4WD.
Or you could go the long way, via Macgregor. That's a fun walk and although you miss the beautiful little rainforest creek, you get the ridge forest so it's swings/roundabouts.
