Hut between Ben and Ragged Jack

On our nice little weekend up the NE Bagging, we spotted from the top of Ragged Jack a nice looking little hut on a grassy area underneath the slopes of Ben Lomond. I guess it would be between Magnet and Stein Crags.
Does anyone know if this is private or public?

Interesting... I didn't know there were any huts (public or private) away from the main ski-fields area of Legges Tor.
Can't seem to find anything on The List.

The land title in the bottom left of that screen shot Kramster (title lot 0916),
It also shows a road heading towards it which we used to access Ragged jack, tho with the river well & truly up it would be impassable to vehicles at the moment.
I'd figure a private hut based on the land title; it looked like a very nice setting for a walking hut tho, as per Marks photos.

The exact same thing crossed my mind when I saw the first photo

How about a little sign poll... my dibs are on "Private Property - Tresspassers will be shot"

Its a private block of land surrounded by Park. The "road" is on the Parks asset system and whilst I cant tell you what is on the sign at the hut I can show you the one at the start of the road :( I suspect the local ranger might be able to tell you about the owners.

Thanks dude! We walked past that sign.... Water would have been too high to get a car past it anyway...

Out of curiosity, how was the track up to Rugged Jack?

Basically follow that road you obviously already know until you hit a cairn and tags on the right about 1km up. then the track seemed to go up up up to the right hand side of the boulder field. You hit the top and then have a scrubby at times bash to the summit a few hundred metres along. On the way back we decided to just go almost straight down to the nice grassy area below and trended to the left to meet the road. took considerably less time (obviously going downhill) but would have been much easier going up this way!
Was very open most of the way and a very enjoyable walk!

Many thanks - I have never been up into that area. I might have to make some time next trip up north.
