Hey all
Planning a trip into the walls in the next week or so and am looking at options re camping. Understand their are platforms, loo and running water at WDC, if we choose to camp further in, IE Dixons, is there a water source that can be used?
Long time since I last visited that area... back then it had no loo.. which I believe it now does...
Any feedback appreciated!

I understood that water quality at Dixons is suspect due to poor hygiene over the years, so we picked up water from tarns on a side walk up Mt Jerusalem.
Someone staying near the hut was suffering gastro at the same time.
Getting water from just over jaffa gate into the Valley of Hinom would also not be difficult.

Water was fine when I was there on 2 and 3 January - we drank out of the stream near the hut with no treatment.

February 2018 myself and at least 10 others drank water from that stream. I don't think anyone treaded it.

I have only ever drunk from the little hole beside the track to Mt Jerusalem, probably less than 50m from the hut. Is that still okay?

Despite the dryness, the stream between Jaffa Gate and Dixon's was running well on 2-3 Jan. It sometimes runs above ground, sometimes underground, sometimes forms deep pools - but is all the same stream. Four of us drank lots of untreated water from the hardened access point 20m from Dixon's, with no problems.
