Hey all, this winter I plan to summit Mt Ossa. If this was the sole objective, what recommendations would you give? I can hike hard and fast, how many days do you think I could punch it out in? Thanks!
See you at the top, Andy

If there is anything more than a light cover of snow on the main part of the climb up Ossa I suggest that you be very careful in winter.
The slope up from the saddle between Doris and Ossa averages about 30 degrees, climbs about 250 m over 400 m, faces SSE and is shaded by the bluff to the north.
Last winter some friends tried to get up. Even with crampons and ice axes they found it too dangerous to do without a rope.

Ah! Exactly what I was wondering. Thanks! I have an axe but only microspikes, will have to keep an eye on the coverage. Thanks mate
