Ironbound range high point

Looking at the maps it seems the highpoint of the Ironbound range is somewhat away from the point where the South Coast track crosses the range. Does anyone know if there is a pad to the highpoint, any idea of how long it would take to get from the track to the highpoint
thanks

Don't know whether these help, aerial shots on a fine day, November 2009

When I was there in Nov 2008, it was raining and very windy - just the weather you want to cross the Ironbounds in eh? If it was fine I would have summited it. It doesn't look that far... I didn't see a pad though.

THIS LINK might help too (google maps, satellite view)
Looking at it, it looks like the best ascent would be achieved by following the ridge from the western edge - photo 3 shows it as being a less steep approach. But I haven't done it, so others might have a better idea.

Nice photos Adam. Those light green patches nearing the summit are cushion plants.

There's no pad, in fact very little hint of one. Not to worry though, its open going to the summit. It took me around 40 minutes from the track to the summit, and only slightly less comming back. Weather conditions were perfect, and the views to Prion beach and PB are certainly worth the detour.
