We are flying into Hobart late at night and would like to get to Lake St Clair in time for the midday ferry the next day. Unfortunately we will have to purchase some gas canisters for fuel before we drive out the next morning as we can't carry them on the plane - does anyone know of Hobart Camping/Hiking stores with early opening hours?
Thanks, Jacky

Knowing Tas , none would open that much before 9am. If you arrive on a saturday night , might also be battling to find many open on a sunday. Might be worth ringing a few of them before leaving . May be some available at Lake St Clair but bit of a risk . Hope it works out .

Good idea about calling - made me think of another idea - paying for the cannisters by credit card and getting the store to leave them outside the back door in a plastic bag or something. I'll try some stores. Thanks, Jacky

I'm sure I saw some cannisters on the shelf in the Parks office when I was in there on Saturday - give them a call and check

Hi everyone,
I called the Parks office and reserved some gas cannisters to pick up before we get on the Lake St Clair Ferry.
Thanks to all for your help,
Jacky
